 The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic accounting graduate (or current student in final year) to join our finance team in our Devonport office.

You will support the Financial Accountant and work closely with our experienced and talented finance team in helping to deliver monthly and year end reporting requirements.

Tasks you will gain experience in and assist with include:

  • Monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reporting including FBT, income tax, statutory accounts and ABS;
  • Daily transactional responsibilities of the finance team including batch posting and imports;
  • Preparation of month end journals and reconciliations in line with management reporting deadlines;
  • Reviewing transactional data with consideration of applicable Accounting Standards, GST and/or FBT legislation;
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register both for accounting and taxation ledgers;
  • Data preparation for annual FBT lodgement; and
  • Fuel accounting purchases, stock and hedging transactions.

What you will bring:

To be successful in this role, you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work to the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail.

You will have a strong knowledge of GST and FBT legislation and Australian Accounting standards and how these apply to the day to day operations of a business.

Practical experience in management reporting, GST transactions, FBT, Annual Financial Reporting and accounts payable/receivable is desired although not essential.
